National Account Manager
This position reports to the Director of Sales. Persons in this position are home-based but must travel extensively to fulfill their job responsibilities. This may include travel outside of the U.S., so a valid passport is required. Travel may occur on weekends as well as weekdays. When traveling for DVMAX, and representing the company at client sites and tradeshows, staff in this position are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism and abide by company policies and guidelines with regard to business attire and company expenditures.
This staff member must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented, and have a good understanding of both Windows and Macintosh computer hardware and operating systems. A solid foundation in the use of Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Overall knowledge of the veterinary profession and business management in general would be advantageous to someone in this position.
The Role / Purpose of this person is to establish relationships and gain knowledge of both current DVMAX customers and potential DVMAX customers in order to offer customers both service and value that is better than our competitors. A focus will be established on large practices and Multi Practice clients. An ambitious effort to retain and service these clients will be a focal point. Clear goals will be stated as to expectations of monthly sales for all products.
The Key Responsibilities of this person include being thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of DVMAX Practice Management Software. Key features and benefits a must. This person will promote and sell a range of products and services to both new and existing DVMAX customers. This person must be capable of providing aspects of consultative assistance to clients at their practice by and by using a variety of internet-based tools and applications (WebEx, Team viewer, etc.). They may also be required to travel for on-site visits when deemed necessary. It is vital that this person become familiar with new features implemented within DVMAX Practice (and / or Research) version, as they are made available for release.
A defined set of accounts will be established. This person will accurately record and process related documents and records for all existing accounts. Maintaining and servicing existing and new accounts will be done on a quarterly basis.
This account manager will organize the sequence and nature of new calls, based on appropriate customer segmentation around which to build the day's activities. They will use such data and statistics as may be provided by the Company to analyze their accounts, identify key opportunities, and to optimize account planning and callbacks within a set range of time. They will:

Identify the key decision makers and influencers in each customer or prospective Customer

Build and develop relationships with key existing and potential customers and influencers o promote DVMAX brands, products and services

During sales calls, obtain enquiries from existing customers and new prospects by conducting an approach or opening in the interview that obtains the opportunity to present the Company's products to meet the prospect's (client's) needs

Handle customer objections in such a way as to find opportunities to sell DVMAX's products

Partake in any selling skills training as may be decided by the Company
